Elections

We are very close to have the annual elections for the BOD. This year we have to elect three "Board Members" and one "President Elect". Nominations are open.

I am sure you know someone --it has to be an SCB Europe member-- who can be a good Board Member, perhaps even a President Elect. So yo can nominate him to run for the elections. You can even nominate yourself if you want to collaborate with the section.

Remember: deadline is October 15th. Just contact the election officer jbustamante_at_ebd.csic.es

Kraków meeting

We celebrated a BOD meeting in Krakow from the 20th - 22nd September. The meeting took place at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Actually, several meetings took place. First of all a preparatory meeting of the 2nd European Congress of Conservation Biology, ECCB 2009. The Stearing Committee, the Program Advisory Committee and the Local Committee of the congress met with the BOD on the 20th September. Proposed symposiums, workshops, round-table discussions and short courses were reviewed and were provisionally approved. Congress budget, time table and planification were reviewed and approved by the BOD. On the 21st the proper BOD meeting took place. On the 22nd there was a meeting of the Policy Commitee of the Europe section.

Here we are...

This is the blog of the Board of Directors of the Europe Section of the Society for Conservation Biology, from now onwards the BOD.
We want this to be a new communication channel between the BOD and section members.
